A Home Reimagined: New Construction with Transitional Elegance

Come step inside our client’s new family home with us, and you’ll be greeted by an atmosphere of calm and warmth. Working with these homeowners was close to our heart as the home was designed for a longtime client’s retired parents.  We wanted these spaces to be a study in balance—honoring their traditional roots while embracing a lighter, more transitional interior design style fit for their new Texas home.

Foyer With Tone-On-Tone Wallpaper And Navy Bench – Transitional Interior Design Frisco Tx

The foyer sets the tone for the entire home. With generous wall space and natural light, we wanted the entry to feel elevated yet inviting. A tone-on-tone wallpaper creates subtle movement across the main wall, while warm patterned fabric softens the windows. Instead of a single piece of art, we curated a collage of crystal shadow boxes with antique silver-leaf frames—adding depth and interest without overwhelming the space

An arched mirror above a navy plush bench reflects light beautifully, creating an airy welcome. The arches continue through the foyer as you enter the front door. The circular silhouette of the chandeliers keeps the lines soft while drawing you into the home. Touches of blue from the bench to the console lighting offer a refreshing yet calming pop against the neutral palette.

Study: Texture and Function in Balance

For the study, we focused on texture and creating thoughtful storage. The grass cloth wallpapered walls lend a softness and depth accentuating the tall ceilings with its natural textural look. Custom built-ins flank the window, painted in refined gray, providing both storage and a light, airy frame for the desk to sit in between. A striped chair and rug with hints of blue tie the space back to the home’s palette, while ensuring it still feels distinct and personal.

Kitchen: A Seamless Blend of Form and Function

New Construction Kitchen Design With Gray Cabinetry And Stained Island – Transitional Interior Frisco

The kitchen flows naturally into the dining and living spaces, making it the heartbeat of the home. With the wall directly across filled with tall windows allowing an abundance of natural light to stream in, our goal was to keep the palette fresh and bright. Sleek finishes and clean lines strike the balance between livability and style. Every detail, from the cabinetry to the lighting, was chosen to feel timeless, with subtle blue accents woven in to create continuity throughout the first floor.

With this kitchen, the perimeter cabinets were coated in a gray paint that we balanced with a deep stain on the island. We custom mixed a tone from the wood flooring to give us the perfect color.

The tile backsplash was another area that we wanted to keep simple but continued to bring in depth and texture with the raised surface of an Arabesque design.

The cabinetry was custom designed with specialty details such as the pull outs next to the range, drawers below for the cookware, and special drawers for cutlery and gadgets. This couple was one to do a lot of cooking, especially for their large family that live locally, so it was essential to create a kitchen that functioned for them.

The beautiful Quartz countertops with subtle, light veining created a great contrast to the dark finish of the island and the dining room table.  In this home we love the polished silver of the pendants and the dining room chandelier and how they create a soft elegance in the space.  The dining room chandelier has off white shades to defuse the light and gives a softer feel over your dining table.  I love how the different off whites and soft grays great a very serene space!

Dining Space: A Room for Gathering

Kitchen Designs

The dining room was designed with family in mind. With a large extended family nearby, the room needed to host both intimate weekday dinners and festive holiday gatherings. A neutral foundation keeps the space light, while varied textures—patterned dining chairs, a velvet armchair by the fireplace, and a diamond-tiled fireplace surround—add dimension. Mixed metals tell a layered story: a silver chandelier offers polish while golden candlesticks introduce warmth. A dark-stained dining table and chair legs ground the room, giving it elegance and presence.  Shades of soft blue, from the table settings to a commissioned artwork above the fireplace, add a refreshing lift.

Living Room: Light, Texture, and Warmth

Frisco Layered Transitional Home Tour

In the family room, sunlight floods the space, so we designed with balance in mind. We absolutely love this room!  A mix of plush velvets, patterned fabrics, and marble-topped tables adds both comfort and sophistication. Silver metals in the console details and window hardware, paired with warm golds in tables and accessories, create a rich, layered look. Framed window treatments make the outdoors part of the design, bringing in a natural pop of color to complement the home’s neutral foundation.

The soft texture of the velvet sofa plays off the plush softness of the area rug to enhance the cozy, welcoming atmosphere. We again picked up blue through the artwork and the fun accent pillow on the custom swivel chair. A great chair to sit and read a book while gazing out into the gardens through an abundance of windows! Custom panels flank the windows and Hunter Douglas Nantucket Sheers were installed to provide privacy and light control.
